Package and its Contents
The X9 2TB SSD retail package contains the SSD, USB-C cable, and a multilingual quick-start guide. We will find general specifications, additional features, and contact support on the exterior. In short, everything that a regular user needs to know.
The X9 doesn’t require any guide. All we need to do is connect the USB cable and use it. For optimal work, we will need a device with USB ports supporting at least 10Gbps, so USB 3.2 Gen2x1, equal or higher.
The X9 shares the general design with the X9 Pro and X10 Pro. The main differences are the used material and the enclosure’s color. The X9 has a plastic but still great-looking black top. It’s probably my favorite portable SSD design as it’s small, light, and doesn’t limit performance.
I will (again) say that I wish to see a built-in USB cable so I wouldn’t have to remember to carry it, and it would take up less space. Maybe designers will catch the idea and make a really one-piece portable SSD. The X9 is pocket-sized, but the USB cable takes as much space as the SSD itself.
The SSD is resistant to water and dust and should also survive drops on the ground from a 1-2m height. This is precisely what we expect of the portable SSD.
