The X9 Pro SSD has a declared maximum bandwidth of 1050MB/s. We will see slightly lower results on most computers, and even our test rig couldn’t reach 1050MB/s write. The most important is read bandwidth, as writes are rarely perfectly linear, so during a typical work where there are random operations, we can count on 100-500MB/s.

The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter and was in perfect condition. CrystalDiskInfo shows the SSD is brand new without SMART errors or used cells. The screenshot below shows the SSD after a couple of tests.
Crucial provides Storage Executive software, which shows the same SMART data and gives us additional options, like the firmware update. It’s mentioned in each Crucial review, so it’s well-known, and I will skip it this time.
The average temperature is very low. During maximum load, we can count on up to 43°C, making it one of the coolest portable SSDs on the market. The average temperatures are only 1-2°C lower than those of the X10 Pro SSD, while both SSDs share the same enclosure design.
Since the X10 Pro is a new product, it arrived with the latest available firmware. There were no issues, so the update is not required.
On the next page, we will look at the SSD itself and the package contents.
