Package and its Contents
The retail package of the X9 Pro 2TB SSD contains the SSD, USB-C cable, and a multilingual quick-start guide. On the exterior, we will find a general specification, additional features, and contact with support. In short, everything that a regular user needs to know.
The X9 Pro doesn’t require any guide. All we need to do is connect the USB cable and use it. For optimal work, we will need a device with USB ports supporting at least 10Gbps, so USB 3.2 Gen2x1, equal or higher.
The X9 Pro shares the design with the X10 Pro. The only difference is that the X9 Pro is silver, while the X10 Pro is black. It’s, so far, my favorite portable SSD design, but it doesn’t mean it couldn’t be slightly better.
I will (again) say that I wish to see a built-in USB cable so I wouldn’t have to remember to carry it, and it would take up less space. Maybe designers will catch the idea and make really one-piece portable SSD. The X9 Pro is a pocket size. but the USB cable takes as much space as the SSD itself.
The SSD’s enclosure is made of metal in front and rubber in touch, but very smooth back. You can feel the quality of the product only by touching it. Touching the screen probably won’t tell you much about it, but you can look at the photos above.
The SSD is resistant to water and dust and should also survive drops on the ground from a 1-2m height. This is precisely what we expect of the portable SSD.
We will show you how the X9 Pro SSD performs on the next page of this review.
