GIGABYTE UD PRO 256GB SSD Review

Unboxing, Looks, Build quality and Installation

Overall Gigabyte includes everything I’d expect from an SSD at this price point, which would be an SSD, and instructions so no complaints here!

While I doubt looks are a high priority for anyone who buys an SSD this is a really good-looking drive. It’s made out of a matte black metal casing with the Gigabyte logo painted on the front and looks extremely premium.

Build quality

As stated above the entire drive is encased in metal which I have never seen before for an SSD in this price point and is a major plus for me. While I doubt anyone will be throwing their SSD down the stairs it’s nice to have a drive that will survive a beating.

I rate the build quality of the UD PRO 5/5  for being the strongest feeling drive I’ve used and the only SSD I’ve seen in this price point made entirely out of metal.

Installation

The UD PRO is a standard 2.5in SSD so installation is the same here as any other SSD. In my case, I just put the SSD onto the bracket and screw in the 4 screws into the edges and then the drive is installed! It only took about 5 minutes to install this drive so no complaints here.

Now, let’s move onto performance!
