Conclusion
The HP FX700 SSD does not aim to beat any records, but it’s probably the fastest QLC SSD on the market. At first sight, results are very close to SSDs based on a similar Maxio controller but with TLC NAND. The FX700 is expected to be cheaper, and in a typical household, it will last about the same time, even though the theoretical TBW factor is lower.
During the tests, there were no problems with the FX700 SSD. Everything was perfect, and we could exceed the performance specified by the manufacturer. The FX700 2TB comes with a 5-year warranty or 800 TBW, depending on which one comes first. As I mentioned, it will last much longer than we would expect.
The price in retail stores is unclear as it’s a new product and is not listed anywhere. We should see these SSDs on the shelves at the beginning of 2024, which is very close.
Final words:
The HP FX700 2TB NVMe SSD is a perfect upgrade option for all those who wish to have a higher capacity SSD that offers high performance, but at a low price. It is especially recommended for laptops because of its low power consumption and low heat, but it should also be more than enough for most gamers/users.
