Conclusion and Verdict
HyperX FURY RGB SSD is maybe not the fastest but offers a couple of features which are not so common on the SSD market. For sure we can’t miss the RGB lighting and I guess it’s the main reason why anyone wishes to buy this SSD.
There are barely any other SSD which offer LED lighting, not to mention full management. There could be of course additional HyperX software as not all users can change the lighting without a compatible motherboard.
HyperX FURY RGB is not cheap. Actually, if we compare it to any other SSD then it can cost even twice as much as similar capacity, lower series SSD. On the other hand, there are no cheaper SSD with LED lighting. I guess it depends on the user if LED lighting in SSD is really important.
Amazon is selling a 480GB version of HyperX FURY RGB SSD for about $125.
Pros:
- High quality
- RGB lighting
- Interesting design
- Inexpensive (comparing to other RGB SSD)
- High performance in sequential operations
Cons:
- Performance in random operations could be higher
- Missing RGB software / requires a compatible motherboard
Final words:
The HyperX FURY RGB SSD is an interesting option but I guess it may have a narrow group of potential users. The SSD is fast enough for gamers or other users. It also offers a high quality, a three-year warranty and everything else for what we are used to loving Kingston products. However, RGB lighting is the key feature and for only that feature, there will be users who will pay the premium and will be fully satisfied.
HyperX FURY RGB SSD is a product worth recommendation for gamers and enthusiasts who are looking for a well-performing SSD with RGB lighting which can add something special to the gaming PC.
