Conclusion
The Kingston DataTraveler microDuo is a pretty good flash drive. We had absolutely no issues with this device during our tests. Performance could be higher but mobile devices are not prepared for much higher transfers so I doubt it would change much.
As does all Kingston flash drive series, the DT microDuo also has a five year warranty and free support. It counts especially though most flash drives on the market have a limited two year warranty.
The biggest advantage with this flash drive is the USB On-The-Go functionality. Actually that is the main reason this device has been created. This feature is also what causes the lower speed; which is not so important and we can still enjoy small portable storage for our mobile devices.
It is for sure a great option for all Android users, not only due to its small size, but the low price can probably convince everyone to buy this product.
Since I mentioned price, Kingston DT microDuo 16GB is available in online stores for about $10. The 32GB version cost nearly twice as much but it is still a really good price for a 32GB flash drive.
Pros:
- dual USB/micro USB interface
- small form factor
- low price
- supports USB OTG
- 5 year warranty
Cons:
- could be faster
Final words:
It is hard to find any weak side of Kingston DT microDuo besides the already mentioned performance. As I already pointed out, it is not as important for this type of storage so it will not be a key factor in the total score.
The Kingston DT microDuo 16GB is a great little flash drive which I can recommend to everyone who is looking for inexpensive storage, especially one which is dedicated for a mobile device with OTG funcionality. $10 spent on DT microDuo will be great investment.
