Performance
Performance has been tested on two computers. Presented results were achieved using Intel Skylake platform based on i7 6700K processor and ASRock Z170 OC Formula motherboard. All tests were performed on Intel SATA3 controller which offers great performance and is the most popular as it’s integrated in every Intel chipset.
Let’s begin with ATTO Disk Benchmark.
Results in ATTO are great. Maximum read bandwidth is about 10MB/s higher while write about 30MB/s higher than we can see in the drive’s specification. On laptop results were slightly lower but also above declared values.
Next test is CrystalDiskMark in the latest version.
Sequential bandwidth is again higher than the declared by Kingston but here we will focus more on random operations. Regardless of test files, results are really good considering it’s lower series SSD. 4K read/write could be higher but there is nothing to complain about as results are still as good as on some higher SSD series.
In Anvil’s Storage Utilities results are lower because of different test procedure. On nearly all SSD we can see lower performance in this benchmark so it’s pretty normal. Results are still good even though we wish to see higher numbers.
PCMark 8 is showing pretty average results for lower series SSD. Total score is good but average bandwidth could be higher. On the other hand similar priced competitive drives are not faster in this benchmark so again could be faster but we are still statisfied.
Since Kingston is adding USB enclosure to the UV400 then I decided to show you how it’s performing. Below are results in ATTO and CrystalDiskMark. Even though results seem low, they are pretty good for USB 2.0 with maximum bandwidth of a bit more than 36MB/s.
These tests were performed on ASUS G552VW laptop.
