The SSD is designed to support USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. It’s backward compatible with previous versions of USB, but to see the optimal performance, we will need a USB-A/USB-C 10Gbps port or faster. If we use older or slower standards, the data transfer will take much longer.
Above is a screenshot from CrystalDiskInfo showing that the SSD is in perfect condition. The drive arrived with a 0TB written and 0 hours on the counter.
More information gives us Kingston SSD Manager. Besides SMART reading, we can update the firmware or check other details about our storage device. The same software works with most, if not all, Kingston SSDs.
The temperature of the drive is relatively low. In idle, we can expect about 30°C, while under load, it’s around 45°C. It’s the internal temperature, so we can put it into the pocket after copying the data.
Above is a hwinfo64 confirmation of temperatures after extended tests.
