Conclusion and Verdict
The XS1000 SSD is one more successful product from Kingston. After a great XS2000, I wasn’t expecting anything else. Both SSDs share an external design, with some details like the enclosure color.
The main difference is inside, as the XS1000 may be slower but still delivers exceptional performance. It’s perfect for carrying large data that require quick access without paying for high-capacity cloud services. It’s easy to use and compatible with most available computers on the market and gaming consoles.
Like the XS2000 SSD, the XS1000 is covered by a 5-year warranty, the most extended warranty for portable SSDs on the market. It confirms the high quality of the product.
The price is also not so high. The 2TB version of the Kingston XS1000 Portable SSD costs around $108 in the Amazon store. It’s very reasonable for everything we get, comparable or cheaper than competitive products.
Final words:
The XS1000 2TB portable SSD is another well-designed product from Kingston. Everything works as advertised, or even better. The performance is the highest possible for the USB 3.2 Gen 2×1, so we could not ask much more from this SSD. It’s light-weight, compact, fast, and inexpensive … just perfect!
Kingston XS1000 2TB portable SSD receives a well-deserved Funky Kit Editor’s Choice Award!
