Verdict:
So guys here we are again, I hope you liked this review!
Now let us take a look back at the pros and the cons of the LaCie Fuel wireless storage solution. First let us start with the pros, with the fuel you will have a lot of extra space so you can carry and watch all your favorite movies/series and pictures. It is pretty small and does not weight much what is great for the portability. The LaCie fuel is also equipped with a USB 3.0 port so if you plug it in in the USB 3.0 port on your PC you will get a higher transfer speed then USB 2.0. When plugged in, the Fuel also acts like an external hard drive. Then the cons: To play my video files the Fuel told me to install me a third party video player like “goodplayer” or “aceplayer”, these are payed apps, I would prefer there where player integrated in the Seagate media app or a free alternative as VLC. The Fuel is also only wireless so you need to connect to it like you connect to a wireless connection. You can connect to the fuel and then connect it to your (home)internet connection so you have access to the device and the internet I do like that but in public spaces Bluetooth would be preferable.
Pros:
– Big space (1TB)
– Small form factor and light weight
– USB 3.0
cons:
– 3th party payed application is needed to play videos
– Only wireless
Final words: The Lacie Fuel is a great device for people who need more storage on their smartphone, iPod/MP3/MP4 or tablet. Movies, pictures or music. The device feels really strong and sturdy, has a good look and is light and small. I do find it a little bit expensive it goes around for 160 euros or more for the 1TB version. If you only need storage to stream movies to you iPod or tablet at home i do recommend to maybe consider a Synology NAS if you need or want to take your movies with you this is a good option.
