Conclusion and Verdict
The Lexar NM800 Pro Gen4 M.2 1TB performed well in the benchmarks nearly reaching the 7500MB/s advertised speeds. The only thing I noticed was the AIDA64 linear test saw a decline in speeds after 30% of the test was completed. This was not due to high temps. Not sure why it throttled. Other than noticing that the drive performed as well as you could expect. I like the temperature results, the speed results, and the price at the time of this review. I will always jump on a TB drive when it’s around the 100-dollar range. Those typically are not one rated this fast either. So having all those great specs and results from a drive at this price point is exciting news.
There is an exact model that comes with a heatsink if that fits your needs. But as you can see in the temps this one did quite well even though there was no heatsink used. If there was a heat sink the temp probably would have been a little better. You could opt for the heatsink model or utilize one that comes with your mother board. Either way this drive won’t even come close to the throttle speeds.
