Test Bench
For our tests, we used our Test Rig which consists of an Asus Strix Z790-E Gaming Motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-14900K, 32GB of DDR5-7200 ram and a GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER.
* ALL tests are conducted at specified default speeds and settings.

AIDA64 Disk Information
Aida64 shows the Lexar SL500 with an unformatted capacity of 1,907 GB, but after a full format you most likely get around 1.85 TB of storage.
AIDA64 Linear Read Test
“This test is designed to measure the sustained linear (sequential) reading performance of the storage device by reading all data from the surface of the device.”
CrystalDiskMark
CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark software. It measure sequential reads/writes speed, measure random 512KB, 4KB, 4KB (Queue Depth=32) reads/writes speed, select test data (Random, 0Fill, 1Fill), provide theme support and Multi-Language support.
During our CrystalDiskMark tests, we managed to get a super fast read speed of 2001.67 MB/sec, which is excellent. Any product that can produce or match their “advertised” is always good news.
Writes speeds were just as good, reaching a high of 1,771.30 MB/sec, which is slightly off from the “advertised” write speed of 1,800 MB/sec.
ATTO Disk Benchmark
ATTO has created a widely-accepted Disk Benchmark freeware software to help measure storage system performance. As one of the top tools utilized in the industry, Disk Benchmark identifies performance in hard drives, solid state drives, RAID arrays as well as the host connection to attached storage.
Anvil Storage
Anvil’s Storage Utilities is a powerful tool that was designed in order to provide you with a simple means of assessing the read and writer performance of your Solid State Drive or Hard Disk Drive.
PCMark 10 – Full System Drive Benchmark
The Full System Drive benchmark uses a wide-ranging set of real-world traces from popular applications and common tasks to fully test the performance of the fastest modern drives.
This benchmark writes 204 GB of data to the drive over the duration of the test. This data is deleted when the test ends.
To run this test, you need a minimum of 80 GB of free space on the drive, 8 GB of RAM, and a quad-core CPU.
3DMark 10 – Storage Benchmark
Fast storage means shorter loading times and more time in the game. The 3DMark Storage Benchmark is a dedicated component test for measuring the gaming performance of your storage hardware. Using traces recorded from real games, it tests performance for activities such as loading games, saving progress, installing game files, and recording gameplay video streams.
PassMark 11
Fast, easy to use, PC speed testing and benchmarking. PassMark PerformanceTest allows you to objectively benchmark a PC using a variety of different speed tests and compare the results to other computers.
