Package and its Contents
The 2400 SSD arrived in a retail package. It’s one of only a few Micron products designed for the consumer. Most other SSDs are Crucial brand, responsible for consumer and gaming products. The 2400 series SSDs are also often used in branded laptops from brands like DELL.
The package is simple – a blister box with a product label. The label provides basic information, such as product numbers and capacity. I doubt we will find this SSD on a shelf of a retail store, so it’s not really important what is on the package. Most of those SSDs are nowadays ordered in online stores. Besides popular, large sites like Amazon, we can also order it in the Crucial online store.
Inside the package, we will find the SSD and a little screw that can be helpful if our laptop is missing one, and they often do if the M.2 socket isn’t occupied.
The SSD itself is as tiny as all M.2 2230 SSDs. It meets the general specifications regarding size, and there is nothing unusual. The SSD’s label has more product and serial numbers than the package. Everything is in very small font.
Above are additional photos taken on the Steam Deck handheld console. The Micron 2400 is fully compatible with this and every other popular handheld console released in the last few years. However, since the Steam Deck limits the performance to PCIe 3.0 standard, we performed the tests on a regular desktop motherboard. Our results are on the next page of this review.
