Performance
The performance has been tested on the AMD Ryzen platform that contains the Ryzen 9 7950X, 16-core processor, ASUS Crosshair X670E Gene motherboard, ADATA Lancer Mera Edition 32GB DDR5-7200@6200 memory kit, and Acer Predator GM7000 2TB M.2 SSD with installed Win11 Pro x64 as OS drive. All tests were performed on the Netac ZX20 1TB SSD.
Let’s begin as usual with the ATTO Disk Benchmark.
The ZX20 SSD is one of only a few SSDs that reached declared bandwidth in the ATTO benchmark, so 2GB/s read, and 1.7GB/s write. Usually, we can see 100-200MB/s less than in the product’s specifications.
In CrystalDiskMark, all results are even better. We could achieve over 2132MB/s sequential read and 1881MB/s write. Additionally, random bandwidth results are significantly better than on most previously tested portable SSDs.
In PCMark 10, results are never expected to be very high, but for portable SSD, the scores that the ZX20 achieves are exceptional.
3DMark Storage Benchmark is not meant to be run on portable SSD, but we made an exception as the ZX20 performs well in other tests. 3DMark score is pretty high, but of course, it’s hard to compare it with the latest series of M.2 NVMe SSD.
Anvil’s Storage Utilities is a rather old benchmark but is still popular. This benchmark usually shows lower results than the ATTO or the CrystalDiskMark. It doesn’t change the fact that the results are pretty high.
In the end, the AIDA64 Disk Benchmark results in the Read Test Suite.
Results are slightly lower than the specified, but it’s not an issue as every test differs. The results still look well and not far from the 2000MB/s.
The Netac ZX20 is one of the fastest portable SSDs on the market and, so far, the fastest we tested. All tests were consistent and repeatable, which is essential during longer work. Our tests confirm the ZX20 is a well-designed portable SSD.
