Test Setup
Testing was accomplished on a fresh installation of Windows 7 SP1 x64, with all of the updates and most recent drivers related to our test system. All of the drives used in our tests were first securely erased via software provided by their respective manufacturer and then updated to their latest firmware. Our test setup consists of the following hardware:
Performance
ATTO Disk Benchmark v2.47
The Vertex drive managed a maximum read of 553MB/s and a maximum write of 532MB/s. The actual read and write speeds both eclipsed their respective advertised rated speeds in this test. The Vertex 460 drive leaves the other three drives behind with the exception of maximum read speeds from the Vector 150 drive.
CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64
The Vertex drive managed a maximum sequential read of 479MB/s and a maximum sequential write of 481MB/s. The results are a bit lower than that of ATTO. However, The Vertex 460 drive leaves the other three drives in the dust with this benchmark with the exception of maximum read speeds from the Vector 150 drive, which mirrors the results of the ATTO test.
AS SSD Benchmark 1.7.4739
The Vector drive managed a maximum sequential read of 511MB/s and a maximum sequential write of 490MB/s, with a total score of 1092. Again, the results are a bit lower than that of ATT; however yet again, the Vector 150 drive leaves the other three drives in the dust with this benchmark as well.
So what do you get when you fit the performance of a flagship SSD into a midrange priced variant? Let us move on to the conclusion of this review to find out!
