Patriot Blast is clearly one of the best options if you are looking for good and inexpensive SATA SSD. In all our tests we’ve seen exceptional performance and no issues with stability.
I had a chance to test couple of other SSD based on Phison controllers but Patriot Blast is simply faster. I’m not sure if it’s firmware or something else but it works great.
I don’t have much to say about design as it’s about the same as most SSD that we had a chance to review. It’s simply good and protects drive like it should. Since I mentioned protection then Patriot Blast is covered by three year warranty. Let’s say it’s enough considering that average life of a desktop computer is also three years. However we wish to see five year or lifetime warranty.
The 480GB version of Patriot Blast cost about $130. It’s less than probably any competitive SSD at about 550MB/s read. Lowest SSD series are about $10 cheaper so I wouldn’t think much. $130 is simply a good deal for so fast SSD.
