Conclusion
Patriot Blaze is maybe not the best SSD on the market but it performs good comparing to all lower SSD series. Blaze is aiming in home users and gamers with lower budget who want to move to fast storage but don’t want to sacrifice product’s quality.
Patriot is offering three year warranty for Blaze SSD what is good enough warranty length as it covers average computer’s lifetime. Cheaper SSD series rarely have longer warranty so we can consider it as an advantage.
Performance should be good enough for all gamers as I already mentioned couple of times. More demanding users should take a look at higher Patriot SSD series like Ignite which I hope we will have a chance to test soon.
240GB version of Patriot Blaze cost below $130 what is not bad considering it’s a new product and competition is keeping similar price point for their older SSD series.
It’s hard to say much about design. Patriot Blaze looks good but is not much different than most other SSD on the market. Metal case with two labels and size perfect to fit into most desktop and laptop computers. It also works on Windows and Mac systems what is good as not all SSD are working with Apple products.
Pros:
- Good performance
- Reasonable price
- Advanced wear-leveling and Smart ECC
- Compatibility with Microsoft and Apple systems
Cons:
- Could be faster in random transfers
Final words:
Patriot Blaze looks like a perfect SSD series for all more demanding users with lower budget. It’s not the fastest SSD but it performs well everywhere where it’s needed the most in home environment. All gamers should be satisfied with its performance too what are showing tests like PCMark8.
Reasonable price, good performance and three year support makes Patriot Blaze a good product which is also recommended by FunkyKit.
I’m already curious what other new Patriot SSD will show us. Ignite series SSD should be available soon and I hope we will have a chance to review it on the FunkyKit.
