Testing, Results and Benchmarks
For testing, the first screenshot represents a 256GB Crucial M4. The second screenshot represents the 240GB Patriot Pyro SE SSD.
Testing was done of both the drive empty, and with an operating system on it in order to show both maximum speeds and realistic speeds you can see when using the drive for your operating system.
Testing setup includes:
- Processor: Intel 3930K
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X79-UD3
- Memory:16GB Crucial Ballistix Elite
- Cooling: Custom Water loop
- Storage: Patriot Pyro SE 240GB SSD,
Testing for the M4 is courtesy of Bobnova.
ATTO Disk Benchmark (empty)
Crucial M4 SSD
Patriot Pyro SE
While the M4 slightly beats the Pyro SE in reads, the Pyro SE just completely destroys the M4 when it comes to writes. Whatever Patriot did to tweak those write numbers I have to say I really like it.

Once again the Pyro takes the win. Maybe the tables will turn in the 32m test
32M Crucial M4 SSD
32M Patriot Pyro SE
Once again the Pyro SE edges out a win over the Crucial M4.
HD Tune (empty)
Unfortunately there are no HD Tune preformance numbers from the M4 testing, but here are Pyro SE performance numbers.
Overall the performance is solid.
Crystal Mark Disk Test (empty)
Crucial M4 SSD
Patriot Pyro SE
Once again the Pyro SE wins across the board, it is proving to be a superior drive when empty.
AS SSD
Crcucial M4 SSD
Patriot Pyro SE
Here the M4 takes a win due to the Pyro SE having a terrible 4K-64 score for some reason. I re-ran a few times to make sure it was not just an out of the blue bad score and it was consistantly bad at that test.
