Verdict and Conclusion
As I mentioned earlier, external or portable SSDs are now widely available and getting more popular among professionals, content creators and gaming enthusiasts. And one of the reasons for its popularity, is the fact that data files are getting larger and larger, especially 4K videos files which can balloon to hundreds of gigabytes. You can’t really use an ordinary USB thumb drive, which is often slower and maxes out at around 1TB capacity.
But thanks to the faster USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps) interface, manufacturers can now offer external/portable storage devices that can address both the capacity and speed issues of ordinary USB sticks/thumb drives.

Now let’s bring in the Patriot Transporter and Transporter Lite in to the arena. Both external SSDs offer read/write speeds of around 1,000 MB/sec and uses the faster USB 3.2 Gen2 interface. During our CrystalMark disk tests, the Transporter produced a maximum fast read speed of 1,038.04 MB/sec and 1,048.06 MB/sec for the Transporter Lite. Writes speeds were just as good, reaching a high of 996.05 MB/sec for the Transporter, and 1,005.62 MB/sec for the Transporter Lite.
These external SSDs should be more than capable, and fast enough to edit and render large video files directly of the drive itself using Premier Pro with no issues at all.
The both external SSDs are compact and light-weight. The Transporter measures around 0.86 cm (L) x 10 cm (W) x 3.9 cm (H), and weighs in at around 89g. For the Transporter Lite, it measures around 10.7 cm (L) x 3.25 cm (W) x 0.97 cm (H), and weighs in at super light-weight of only 39.6g.
Final Thoughts
