Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the Patriot Viper VP4300 M.2 PCIE Gen4 x4 2TB SSD. It’s powered by the super fast Rainier IG5236 SSD controller from Innogrit, and supports the PCI-E 4.0 Gen4x4 standard for super fast data transfer, offering a read speeds of up to 7,400Mb/sec, and a write speed of up to 6,800Mb/sec. Our review sample has a total capacity of 2TB of 3D NAND flash memory, and comes with SLC caching and DRAM cache buffer, as well as supporting NVMe v1.4. The package includes 2 new, low profile heatshields to choose from. One is a sleek-looking aluminum heatshield, while the other is a unique super thin graphene heatshield, all of which will help reduce full load temperatures.
Confused and NAND flash memory? Well, there are several types of NAND flash memory used in most of today’s SSDs. The two most popular are SLC and MLC, and now TLC. Here’s a little background taken from HowToGeek.
