Package and its Contents
The US70’s package is a small, well-described box. On the box, we will find the most important specifications, like the drive’s interface, capacity, or warranty. We can also see info about a five-year warranty that is above the typical warranty period for SSD. Most storage products have two or three years of warranty, but some manufacturers are starting to offer up to ten years of warranty.
The US70 is in the most popular M.2 2280 format and works on the PCIe Gen 4 x4 bus. The declared maximum bandwidth is up to 5000MB/s what makes the US70 the fastest SSD in Silicon Power’s offer. It’s also one of the fastest SSD on the market nowadays.
Silicon Power US70 uses the Phison PS5016-E16-32 controller and 3D TLC NAND. We can also see Hynix H5AN4G8NBJR cache DRAM. This combo gives us the fantastic performance that I will show on the next pages of this review.
To fully utilize the US70, we will need a new motherboard with either Z490 chipset and additional PCIe 4.0 bridge, or any from AMD B550 or X570 motherboards. Our tests were performed on ASRock B550 PG Velocita, which provides the best results.
The US70 is also equipped with various technologies which are helping to keep optimal performance and long life of the drive. All of them were described in the features section. On the next page, we will show how all that Silicon Power promises works in our tests.
