Package and Contents
We received the C47 2TB SSD in the retail package. The package is well-described with general specifications and support contact. If we wish for more details or an installation manual, we must visit the TEAMGROUP website. M.2 SSD installation is straightforward, and every motherboard or laptop has a quick installation guide, so we don’t have to worry.
The SSD doesn’t have the heatsink installed, so we must do it ourselves. If we use a motherboard heatsink, it is better not to install it, as it will add an additional layer of thermal resistance. If we install it on laptops or motherboards without additional, large heatsinks, then using the graphene one is recommended.
The only real requirement for optimal performance is an M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 socket. The SSD is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 standard, but it would lead to worse performance.
The SSD is single-sided, which means that components are on one side of the PCB. This is important for thin laptops, where there is not enough space for double-sided SSDs.
Our tests were performed on the latest AMD platform with a Gigabyte X870E Pro ICE motherboard. This motherboard is equipped only with PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 x4 sockets, so it won’t limit the C47’s performance in any test. The motherboard had removed its heatsink for the test requirements, as you see in the photos below.
We will show you how the C47 2TB SSD performs on the next page of this review.
