The 4TB version of G70 Pro has a declared maximum bandwidth of up to 7400MB/s sequential read and up to 6600MB/s write. The read is about the maximum we can find in PCIe 4.0 x4 standard, while the writes could be a bit higher.

The SSD uses the Innogrit IG5236 controller and YMTC 128-layer 3D TLC NAND, which makes it quite affordable and one of the least expensive TLC SSDs. TLC NAND also highly affects the TBW factor. The 4TB version is rated at 2960 TB written, which is a lot for a typical home or office PC.

The SSD arrived with a 0-hour counter in perfect condition. Below is a CrystalDiskInfo screenshot after some tests.

The SSD’s firmware was the latest when we received it. TeamGroup provides a handy tool that checks S.M.A.R.T. status and gives us more diagnostic options.

The idle temperature is around 30°C, which is expected for this type of SSD. We can expect around 60-65°C during load with peaks up to 70°C. This is why using any heatsink for these SSDs is recommended, and TeamGroup provides such with every version of the G70.
AIDA64 suggests that the temperature range is much higher than specified by the manufacturer. It may explain why we haven’t seen thermal throttling in our tests.

On the next page, we will show you the package contents.
