Thecus OS + Software S
So let us take a look at the user interface of the N2310.
This is the desktop of Thecus OS, I find this pretty boring in comparison with Synology’s DSM. Also it is much less user friendly then the Synology (I did not reviewed other brands) in my eyes. not saying it is bad.
Here you see the control panel for the Thecus OS, again I find the Synology better, it just looks complicated and a bit “old”
In terms of apps it is also really basic you have 6 apps you can install on the device, there are some already installed to the device but it is still little if you compare this to a Synology, Qnap, or I don’t know what else.
If they want to compete with the others they do need to do something to the looks, and apps of the OS
Cool thing is you can make a network location to the N2310, so you can easily drop/copy/move files to the NAS back and forth instead of going to the Thecus OS desktop, I really love this!
Personally I was not really impressed with Thecus OS, I am not saying it is bad but I just don’t like it very much. Maybe you will like it or prefer it to other OS’s but I guess that is personal taste
