Toshiba HG6 512GB SATA SSD Review

Conclusion

Toshiba has not been on the SSD market for a long time but they have already shown that they can make good flash drives. The HG6 is one of the best SSD series on the market available in various form factors (SATA, mSATA, M.2) and capacities between 60 and 512GB.

The solid build and additional features make it a good drive not only for laptops and desktops but for also servers.

It is hard to find any disadvantages of the HG6. When we look at the performance then it is in the top of the SSD drives. The random 4K results could be higher but there is also not much to complain as they are above average.

At the moment I am unable to find a store which is selling the OEM version of the tested drive. Retail version will be under slightly different naming but all new Toshiba series should be based on similar controllers providing similar performance.

Pros:

  • High performance
  • Results much higher than those declared by Toshiba
  • Solid build and high quality components

Cons:

  •  None worth to mention

Final words:

I can recommend the Toshiba HG6 512GB SSD to all users who need fast storage without sacrificing reliability. HG6 is well designed SSD which should satisfy all users regardless for what we wish to use this drive. The exceptional performance and quality let me easily award Toshiba HG6 512GB SSD. It is simply one of the best SSD series tested in the FunkyKit laboratory.
