Design

The SONIX comes in a low profile format, and its PCI bracket can be removed and replaced with a bundled half-height bracket, making it ideal for those flatter cases. For those of you out their using a black PC case, you will be disappointed to find that the supplied brackets are only in silver.

The SONIX is heavily protected by the metal shielding on all sides with a lovely cut ZOTAC logo on the underside.

Unscrew the metal shielding and you expose the PCB and the big heatsink keeping the Phison controller and flash memory chips cool.

Removing the big heatsink exposes the Phison E7 controller which is what makes the SONIX so fast.
