Benchmarks
The following tests were done using my own test bench with the following specs:
CPU | Intel Core i7-6600 @ 3.5GHz |
Cooling | Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme |
Motherboard | ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming/AURA |
Ram | 2x 8GB G.Skill TridentZ 3200MHz |
SSD | Patriot Ignite 240GB SATA3 SSD |
PSU | Cooler Master V850 |
Reference VGA card | MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB |
ATTO Disk Benchmark
ATTO disk benchmarks show a peak write speed of 2273MB/sec, while read speed reaches 2989MB/sec. This is blistering fast, over 5 times faster than my Patriot Ignite SATA SSD which recorded tests results as write speed of 403MB/sec and read as 534MB/sec.
Crystal DiskMark
With Crystal DiskMark the SONIX kept up its write speed on the first test and then rapidly dropped the read speed for the others. The read speeds results showed a big drop in performance compared to those by ATTO.
Anvil Storage Utilities
Anvil Storage Utilities shows us the IOPS performance of the SONIX. We have got a maximum of 97.6K for read, and only 0.91K for write. That didn’t look right. So after some research, I had to ensure in Device Manager that both the buffer flushing and cache was enabled.
That’s much better with a IOPS maximum of 173.4K.
PCMark 8 (Disk Benchmark)
We got an overall storage score of only 5028 on the PCMark 8 Disk Benchmark, with a storage bandwidth if 380.47 MB/sec.
