Package and its Contents
The package of the AC2600 range extender looks quite modern. We can see that TP-Link is improving not only products but also the package. Box is not large but it contains everything we need to install the device.
Installation steps are described in the manual. All is simple and shouldn’t cause any issues. Depends on our network settings we can configure the device using web browser and WiFi connection or use LAN cable. Configuration via WiFi was possible on our test network.
On the front we can see couple of LEDs and a large button with round lighting. Small LEDs are showing us the AC2600 status while light around the big button is showing signal quality. When it’s red then we know that the extender is too far from the router.
Our review sample has EU power connector but don’t worry, it’s available also in US and UK standards.
On the sides there are four antennas which are helping to provide good signal. There is also one RJ-45 port and buttons to power up the device and reset settings.
The AC2600 is quite big but once we find a good place to install it then it shouldn’t be a problem.
White, glossy front should look good in any modern house what can be an advantage as some competitive devices don’t look so good and we wish to just hide them ( and it’s not always possible ).
Setup Menu
Here are screenshots of the setup menu which you can access via web browser. All seems clear so even less advanced users can handle the configuration.
