The Box and Packaging
Inside the box, there’s a quick installation guide and the graphics card itself. What I’ve noticed over the years, is that a lot of manufacturers don’t include any power cables or accessories with their graphics cards. I suppose by doing this, it will help reduce the overall cost of the product.
A Closer Look
The card comes with their Phantom Gaming 3X Cooling System, and features 3 striped ring fans, a reinforced metal frame and stylish metal backplate. The large heatsink features 5 ultra-fit heatpipes (2 front/3 rear) It gives users the best balance between the thermal efficiency and silent operation.
The reinforced metal frame give the card some rigidity and helps prevent the PCB from bending. While the stylish metal backplate adds great aesthetics and helps cool the premium thermal pads on backside.
The card only uses up 3 PCIE slot space and measures 330mm in length, so make sure you have a big enough chassis that will cater for this card.
The middle cooling fan features integrated ARGB LEDs which lights up, and you can synchronized it with your ASRock motherboards that support Polychrome SYNC. If you don’t want the ARGB LEDs to light up, you can always turn it on or off via a switch which is located near the power connectors.
The card features 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connector, and has a TBP (or total board power) of around 315W, so we recommend a minimum power supply of 750W or higher. We recommend a 850W or even a 1000W for good measure. For monitor output, there’s 3 x DisplayPort v2.1 and 1 x HDMI 2.1 port.
Installation
No issues with installation whatsoever. The ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming White OC graphics card will look great in any PC build with an all-white theme.
Don’t worry if the cooling fans don’t spin immediately. Give it 5-10 seconds. It’s designed to do that. If the GPU is idle (less workload), the fans will stop spinning and it will resume when the GPU gets more work load (during gaming or video/photo editing).
If you have a monitor what supports FreeSync, make sure you use a high quality DisplayPort cable (1.4 minimum), and remember to enable FreeSync on the Adrenalin Software, otherwise you won’t be getting all the benefits of the graphics card or monitor.
