ASRock Steel Legend Intel Arc B580 Graphics Card Review

Photo Gallery

The packaging is fairly basic. The box does advertise the fact that the Intel Arc B580 does support the Intel XeSS Super Sample “AI Upscaling” and Intel X Matrix Extension (XMX) AI Engines, which are the main AI acceleration hardware on discrete Arc GPUs. Inside the box you’ll the graphics card itself and a user guide.

A Closer Look

The card is cooled by 3 striped ring fans with RGB. You also get a solid metal backplate which helps with the cooling and gives it structural stability and protection.

Additionally, ASRock has included a Nickel-plated Copper Base and a large heatsink with High-density Metal Welding. All these great cooling features will help reduce the overal GPU temperatures.

The 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connectors are located on the center of the graphics card. You’ll also find a LED on/off switch and a ARGB header near the center of the backplate.

Accroding to Intel the card has a TBP (total board power) of around 190W, but with an overclocked GPU running at 2.8 GHz, the TBP will be slightly higher. So we recommend a minimum power supply of 750W or bigger. For monitor output, there’s 3 x DisplayPort v2.1 and 1 x HDMI 2.1 ports.

Installation

As far as installation is concerned, we didn’t encounter any issues. Althoughh the graphics card feature a 3-fan cooling system, it’s not as big as some of the other GPUs we’ve tested. It will however, take up 2.6 PCIE slots pace.

Our test rig consists of an Asus Strix Z790-E Gaming motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-14900K @ default clock speed and 32GB of DDR5-7400 ram.

On the top left side of the graphics card you’ll find the Steel Legend logo, which lights up when the system is powered up.

Of course make sure you plug in the 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connectors SECURELY to the graphics card. Failing to do so will cause major issues/damage to the card.

The card measures only 298 x 131 x 51mm in size. and uses up 2.6 PCIE slot space, so it should fit in most cases without any issues.

Intel Arc Drivers

The intel Arc drivers shows the GPU’s informationand allow users to monitor the GPU’s health and adjust some settings, including GPU tuning, VRAM tuning and Fan/Thermal tuning.
