Conclusion and Verdict
In conclusion, the main benefit of choosing a specific vendors graphics cards, is the cooling design. The iCX3 cooler is very good, and I was able to keep the card below the high of 70 degrees, even when pushing the card to MHz limits. The new cooler design comes with a backplate that allows some of the air to pass through. The backplate also looks pretty decent too. The fans never broke 63% capacity. So you have a little room to play around with the fan curve. At 63% they are virtually no louder than ambient surroundings or the rest of your system. I honestly never even heard them. And all this was achieved with the default fan curve on the normal bios.
Another benefit I mentioned earlier was the performance. EVGA boosts this card to 1860MHZ right out of the box. Although it’s worth mentioning, that the card routinely ran at +-1950MHz on default settings. These are awesome speeds right out of the box. I was able to find the limit on this particular card at around +175 added to the clock. And don’t forget to add to the power target or the MHz won’t reach the 2115MHz. At those speeds the card ran all the tests with no issues. That is an impressive clock to say the least.
Now lets not forget to mention the other cool feature. The RGB! Yes, this card is loaded with RGB. Where you see white in the pictures, you will have beautiful RGB lighting. And that lighting carries on to the area under the fans as well. You can see a nice glow reflecting off the heatsink. This of course customizable with the EVGA software.
The 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra Graphics Card would be great choice anyone looking to upgrade to a solid performing 4K capable video card.
The power pins will be the familiar 2 8-pin connectors. Just be sure to use two separate cables for each connection. The EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra can be found on EVGA for 799.99 USD.
Pros:
- Able to achieve 2115MHz Overclock speeds
- Metal Backplate allows some air to pass through
- iCX3 is Great at cooling
- Bios switch for more aggressive fan curve Normal/OC
- RGB lighting
- Routinely runs higher than the 1860MHz advertised
Cons:
- Availability
Final Thoughts:
The EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra is one cool card. The card has great cooling from the iCX3 cooler, so don’t be afraid to throw a few more MHz at it. And on top of that the RGB only adds to the coolness of this card. There is plenty of RGB to make any lighting enthusiast jump and down!
Hold tight and there will be more available very soon. Just don’t encourage scalpers by buy paying double for these cards. You can buy the EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3qwi4DY
