The Box and Packaging
Not much to say about the box and packaging. The real deal is inside the box.
The Card Itself
The Gigabyte Aorus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition looks really menacing, especially with the WindForce Stack 3 x 100mm fans. It does weigh pretty heavy and has a dimension of H=55, L=293, W=142 mm. So double check the size of your chassis to make sure the card will fit.
A Closer Look
What I like about the card is that Gigabyte has included extra HDMI outputs. So in total, we have 3 x Displayport, 2 x HDMI and 1 x DVI on the I/O panel. There’s also one additional HMDI port near the tail end of the card. This allows chassis with HDMI headers to be connected for things like VR setups.
You’ll also find 2 x 8-pin PCIE power connectors, which we recommend to have both connected to the power supply. This card can consume anything between 270-300W !
Notice the copper base plate … it forms part of the PCB backplate, and features grooves which will help with cooling. The signature X design of the fan cover features RGB LED strips that actually lights up, along with the Aorus logo.
Installation
No issues with installation, however you’ll need to be aware that this card takes up 3 x PCIE slot space. So make sure you double check the size of your chassis.
