Today we will taking a look at the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming OC graphics card. As the name suggests, this graphics card uses Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 TI GPU featuring ADA LoveLace architecture. It supports all the latest technologies such as DLSS3, 3rd Gen Ray tracing, 4th Gen Tensore cores, Nvidia’s Reflex technology and more.
It’s powered by an overclocked GPU that operate on a Core Clock frequency of 2,640 Mhz (default is 2,610 Mhz). It features a total of 7680 CUDA cores and comes with 12GB of GDDR6X ram on a 192-bit memory bus running at 21 Gbps.
For cooling the card uses Gigabyte’s WindForce Cooling system featuring 7 copper heatpipes, a vapor chamber, 3 x 100mm fans that spin alternately.
The card comes with a solid metal backplate giving it structural stability and protection. The included anti-sag bracket provides better reinforcement, and prevents that ugly-looking sag due to the weight of the graphics card.
The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti a full-length graphics card, and uses up to 2.5 PCI slot space, so make sure you have enough room inside your PC.
You’ll also find the new 16-pin power connector and a BIOS OC/Silent switch, and this allow users to get the best performance or enjoy silent operation.
According to Nvidia, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti uses up to 285W of power at full load, so we recommend a minimum power supply of 850W or higher.
Video outputs include 3 x DisplayPort 1.4 and 1 x HDMI 2.1 port, which is more than enough for most gamers out there.
And lastly, the card supports Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion with 3 ring LEDs inside the cooling fans, which can be controlled using Gigabyte’s Control Center.
Now before I carry on, I have to let you guys know a little back story with regards to the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. For those who missed the controversy towards the end of last year, well here it is again. When Nvidia announced and launched the new RTX 40 series of graphics card, it was quite a fanfare. There were 3 models available at launch … the flagship GeForce RTX 4090 (24GB), the high-end GeForce RTX 4080 (16GB) and a GeForce RTX 4080 (12GB). But many people noticed that GeForce RTX 4080 (12GB) had a much lower spec than the Geforce RTX 4080 (16GB).
For that, Nvidia was heavily criticized for labeling the 12GB model as an RTX 4080, especially when the 12GB version was much less powerful. The GeForce RTX 4080 12GB had a MSRP of $899 and features 7,680 CUDA Cores, a 2.31GHz base clock that’s boosted up to 2.61GHz. While the GeForce RTX 4080 (16GB) is much more powerful, with 9,728 CUDA Cores, a base clock of 2.21GHz that boosts up to 2.51GHz. See the comparison table below.
So what did Nvidia do? Well, they unlaunched the GeForce RTX 4080 (12GB), it was the first unlaunching of a product the industry have ever seen, and one of the biggest marketing mistake Nvidia have ever made. No one really knows the true cost of this huge debacle.
Anyway, they eventually delayed its release and renamed it the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, before finally relaunching it a month later in January of 2023. So here we are today …
I would like to thank Gigabyte for providing the review sample. This is a snippet from what Gigabyte has to say about themselves on their website:

As you can see from the table above, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti features 7,680 CUDA Cores, a 2.31GHz base clock that boosts up to 2.61GHz. It also includes DLSS support, 3rd Gen Ray Tracing cores and 4th Gen Tensor cores. The Typical Board Power is rated at 285 W, so we recommemd a power supply of 750W or higher.
Now the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming OC uses a slightly overclocked GPU that operates on a Boost Clock speed of up to 2.64 GHz (the default is 2.62 GHz), and features 12GB of GDDR6X ram on a 192-bit memory bus running at 21 Gbps. Needless to say, this graphics card should offer pretty decent performance when running the latest DX12 titles (with RTX on!)
I’m really interested to see how the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti will compare against our trusted old RTX 3090 and AMD’s flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
We’ll be testing this card using our test rig which is comprised of an Intel Core i9-13900K, along with a Z790 motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-6200 ram from Patriot, and a Lexar 2TB SDD all running Windows 11.
Let’s not waste any time and start by taking a look at the specifications of the graphics card on our next page. You can buy the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Gaming OC graphics card for around USD $859.99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3oqzLaZ
