Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmark (4K – Ray Tracing: OverDrive)
CD PROJEKT RED released an update (v2.21) for Cyberpunk 2077 which includes their Ray Tracing: Overdrive option with RTX on and DLSS3 enabled. It’s incredibly demanding on your hardware.
Verdict and Conclusion
As you know for the past couple of years, prices of graphics card have been a major headache for both gamers and system builders, and for the DIY market as a whole. With mid to high-end graphics cards reaching anything from an inflated price of $700 to $1000 and beyond. It was and still is a pretty dire situation.
So when Nvidia announced their more affordable mainstream gaming GPU – the GeForce RTX 5060 series, it was a much welcomed announcement, especially with prices starting at $299 for the RTX 5060, and $349 for the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB version, while the extended model with 16GB VRAM will cost you $429.
At this price range, it’s a great choice for mainstream users who wants an affordable GPU for 1080P gaming at high refresh rates with a compatible monitor.
Now this card is powered by Nvidia’s latest GB206 GPU featuring Blackwell architecture, and comes with a total of 4,608 CUDA cores, 4th Gen RT cores, 5th Gen Tensor cores, as well as supporting supports DLSS4.
This graphics card comes in a all-white aesthetic with dual fans and features a slightly overclocked GPU running at a boost speed of 2.61Ghz (default is 2.57Ghz). It comes with 16GB of GDDR7 Vram on a 128-bit memory bus running at a speed of 28Gbps.
During our tests, we used an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K processor, along with a Gigabyet B860 AORUS Elite ICE motherboard and 48GB of Viper Gaming Xtreme 5 DDR5-8000 memory. We got decent scores in all of our benchmarks, including a score of 6,056 for Basemark’s Relic of Life, and a Geekbench GPU score of 138,008. For Unigine’s Valley benchmark, we got a score of 6,980, and a Final Fantasy benchmark score of 16,253. Passmark 11 GPU score was 28,155.
Next, we have Superposition 1080p extreme and optimized 4K benchmarks. We got decent scores of 9,043 and 11,902 respectively. For 3DMark Steel Nomad and Speed Way, we got a score of 3,579 and 4,126 respectively. For Port Royal, and Time Spy, it produced a score of 10,080 and 16,322 respectively. And lastly, we got a DirectX Raytracing score of 42.87 fps and a DLSS score of 82.99 fps.
For our Cyberpunk 2077 tests, CD PROJEKT RED released their new update (v2.21), which includes a new benchmark mode. It features their Ray Tracing: Overdrive option with RTX on and DLSS4 enabled. It’s incredibly demanding on your hardware, so we added it to our benchmark tests (see above). The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti EAGLE OC ICE produced an score of 28.74 fps at 4K, and an impressive score of 127.32 fps @ 1440p and 156.3 fps @ 1080p.
For cooling, it feature’s Gigabyte’s WINDFORCE cooling system which includes Hawk fans that reduces air resistance and noise levels, as well as a Copper plate and Copper composite heatpipe, along with Server-grade Thermal conductive gel.
Interestingly, you’ll notice that the card supports the shorter PCIE 5.0 x8 interface and comes with a standard PCIE 8-pin power connector, which means you can use your existing power supply without the need for the 16-pin PCIE power cable. However, the PCIE power connector is located near the front of the card, which I find quite odd, as you’ll need a fairly long PCIE power cable to reach it. Video outputs include 3 x DisplayPort 2.1b and 1 x HDMI 2.1b allowing you to display up to 4K @ 480Hz and 8K @ 165Hz with DSC.
Unfortunately there’s no RGB lighting on this card, so if you want a GPU with RGB lighting, you’re out of luck. One thing it does offer is great aesthetics, especially with an all-white design and compact size measuring just 215mm in length. What’s more, the card only uses up 2 PCIE slot space, so it should fit in most cases with plenty of room to spare, and is perfect for mini PCs and desktops.
You can buy the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 EAGLE OC ICE 16G Graphics Card for around USD $509 from Newegg – https://tinyurl.com/yeypk982
Final Thoughts
The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 EAGLE OC ICE 16G graphics card is a great choice for mainstream users who wants an affordable GPU, for 1080p gaming at high refresh rates with a compatible monitor. It comes with an aesthetically pleasing all-white design, and offers decent performance that easily beats the previous-gen RTX 4060 Ti by quite a wide margin.
