Photos Part 2: The GPU Itself
Now we get to the fun bits, the GPU itself!
The fans look like they’ve been stolen off the previous Windforce coolers on the GTX560 and such, but the underlying cooler is very different. We’ll take a look at it in the next section. I’ve been impressed with these fans in the past.
The cooler extends significantly past the end of the card. The card itself appears to be largely based on the GTX670 PCB as it has room for more ram to flesh things out to 256bit GDDR5. I don’t recommend trying to upgrade it by soldering more on though. Design wise it looks like a mostly-reference design like Gigabyte is so fond of. They generally take the reference design, fix any glaring issues (like the reference GTX660 cooler…) and fab it up.
Much to my delight we get a full size HDMI port. Also DisplayPort and two DVI ports. That should suffice for almost anybodies needs.
From the top we can see a bit more of the cooler, and get a good view of the two PCIe power connectors for whatever that is worth.
The bottom view is similar, but showcases the Faraday cage on the DVI ports.
