Overclocking
Overclocking this card was easy, but also quite boring. After firing up the HIS iTurbo program I proceeded to check for the maximum overclocks that all of the benchmarks and tests could finish at. I was quite surprised at the fact that this card simply did not overclock very far at all. The previous HIS 7750 we tested overclocked to 958mhz core from the stock 800 which was quite a nice boost in speeds. This card however only overclocked the core frequency half as far to 875mhz. Rasing the power limit in iTurbo seemed to do nothing, and without voltage control we were stuck with a lackluster 75mhz over stock speeds. Keep in mind that all cards are a luck of the draw when it comes to overclocking and this particular card does not represent overclocking on HIS cards as a whole.
Temperatures:
Simply using the stock fan profiles built into this card things ran very cool at both stock and overclocked. After a few hours of testing at stock speeds the highest temperature we saw was 66*C when the ambient temperature was around 26*C. With far less non-stop use, temperatures were usually in the 50*C range. Once overclocked we saw little, if any real difference in temperatures. Since there is no voltage control on the card there is no reason that temperatures should go out of control, unless of course you have extremely poor airflow.

Even with around a 10% boost in speeds from an overclock this game is sure not playable at these details and resolution. With things turned down a couple notches everything should run fine, but as-is don’t even think about playing Metro 2033 maxed out.
