Verdict and Conclusion
With the most recent round of driver updates there has been around a 10% boost across the board when compared with the drivers that came out at the cards launch.
As-is the 7750 makes a solid low-resolution gaming card if you are interested in a no-frills gaming experience.
Due to the size it also makes a good HTPC card that generates very little heat and packs a huge punch for the amount of power it uses.
When it comes to overclocking, our particular sample fell flat on its face. There was just under a 10% boost in clock speeds and the memory refused to overclock at all.
Mind you, this is only a single sample and other cards may or may not clock better. Due to the lack of voltage control on this card there is no real way to push back the lackluster clocks and see if additional voltage would help.
Shopping around the good old internet, this particular card can be found for $100 after a mail-in rebate. Considering the previous HIS 7750 we reviewed is found for $80 that extra $20 is a hard pill to swallow unless you really need a half-height video card.
Good:
- Solid cooler
- Nice warranty
- Dual-Fans
- Half-Height card
- Does not need external PCIe Power
- Uses CGN architecture
Bad:
- Not the fastest
- No voltage control
- Price
Final Words. After driver updates the Radeon 7750 has shown around a 10% boost in speeds across the board. But unless you are looking for a half-height 7750 I would seriously consider getting a full-sized card and save yourself $20 or so for a new game.
