Inno3D iChill X3 GeForce GTX 1080 Review (8GB GDDR5X)

Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Inno3D Chill GeForce GTX 1080 X3 with 8GB GDDR5X vram. It features a pre-overclocked GPU running at 1759MHz and it’s cooled by their impressive iChill X3 cooling solution using 3 fans with scythe blades, which they call PDCS (Power Direct Cooling System). It also comes with GPU load indicators – Red for Full Gear Gaming, Green for Lower Power Gaming and Blue for Low Power Application.

By now, you should already be familiar with the GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards and all its features. If you’re new to this, here’s a re-cap.

The GeForce GTX 1080 uses the advanced 16nm FinFET process and Nvidia’s new Pascal architecture. It features a massive 2560 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR5X video memory and a 256-bit memory bus, the GTX 1080 is aimed at the hardcore and high-end enthusiast gaming market. The GPU runs at an impressive 1607MHz with a boost clock of 1733MHz, while memory clock operates at a blistering 10 Gbps! More at Nvidia’s website.

The Inno3D iChill series comes with a pre-overclocked GPU running at 1759MHz (default is 1607MHz), with a boost clock of 1898MHz (default is 1733MHz). These pre-overclock speeds aren’t the highest I’ve seen, but should give us some speed improvements over your standard GeForce GTX 1080.

 

We’ll be comparing the Inno3D iChill x3 GeForce GTX 1080 with the GeForce GTX 1080 and  GeForce GTX 1070 cards from Zotac. We will include benchmark scores from 3DMark Time Spy (DX12), Fire Strike and 3DMark 11 (both DX11), as well as DOOM (Vulcan) and others.
