Closer Look and Cooling
The Sapphire HD7850 OC’s cooling is based on two 80mm fans. As we may also see on below photo there is no memory heatspreader. It could be nice addition but memory doesn’t get hot under load so it’s not really necessary.
As we may see below, PCB is blue as usual for Sapphire graphic cards. They used eight Hynix GDDR5 chips for this card. If anyone is interested and can’t see it on the photo then IC part number is H5GQ2H24MFR-T2C.
Sapphire HD7850 OC cooling has two thick heatpipes instead of four that we could see in HD7870 OC. Later we’ll find out how these changes affect cooling effectiveness.
