Installation
Installation is simple if you have a chassis with lots of space. You’ll need 3 PCI-E slots space. In my case, I have plenty, as I’m using a test bench 😛
Do be careful with the PCI-E slots on your motherboard. The Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme is really heavy.
The Spectra lighting system from Zotac lights up the card via the FireStorm application. You can easily customize and set up your own color and lighting to suit your style.
Test Bench
For our tests, we used a completely new test rig which comprises of an ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer 3.1 motherboard, along with an Intel Core i7-6800K at default clock speed of 3.4GHz, as well as 32GB of ADATA DDR4-2400 ram in quad channel mode.
All tests were conducted at default clock speeds at a resolution of 1920×1080. High or Ultra settings enabled.

The 3D tests on PC Mark 8 shows the massive performance you’ll get with the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme. It blows everything out of the water.

A big thank for this very useful review. I have just buy this BIG card and waiting for her. For information can you tell me wath is the thickness of the thermal pads. Thanks.
“It will be interesting to see how this card (or any other GTX 1080) will perform, when compared against the AMD Radeon RX480”
Is this a joke??? Everybody knows that the 480 is 2 levels behind this card…2×480 won’t even match a 1080.

Yup, this is not the end of the end of the review. We’ll be testing the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP Extreme Edition against other GTX 1080 as well. Plus we will revisit the benchmarks as soon as we have a better OC’ing setup.
Doom uses OpenGL or Vulkan, not DX12 as you put in the benchmark image.
Let me amend it. Thanks for the info.
