Verdict and Conclusion
Wow, all I can say is that this tiny graphics card packs an extremely powerful punch. Just look at the results from our benchmarks and you’ll see what I mean. Due to its slightly lower clock speed of 1506 MHz (default is 1582 MHz), the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Mini falls slightly behind the standard GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, but easily beats the GTX 1080, which is what we expected.
I’m still amazed by the compact size of this card. Measuring just 211mm (length) x 125mm (h) x 41mm (w), it’s ideal for any mini gaming PC or a HTPC system. Load temperatures did reach up to 81 degrees Celsius, but even with a smaller heatsink, it’s still able to cope with no issues at all.
Being small and compact doesn’t mean you lose any of the features found on its bigger GTX 1080 Ti. You still get the Ice Storm cooling, Spectra lighting and of course it’s VR ready. If I was a system integrator and I had it my way, I’ll be installing this card in all of my high-end gaming systems.
Noise level was extremely low, this is all thanks to the Ice Storm cooling which consist of 2 fans that can be controlled via the Firestorm utility. An interesting fact about the fans, is that the first fan has a diameter of 90mm and comes with wide flat blades, while the second fan is 100mm in diameter and feature curved fan blades. This give maximum airflow and static pressure.
I have to congratulate Zotac for being the first to make the world’s smallest GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. I know of now other manufacturer currently that can challenge this! Well done!
As with all GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphic cards on the market, prices ain’t going to be cheap. Costing on average around USD $600-700, it’s an investment you seriously have to think about. Especially when Nvidia has a tend to release their latest GPUs too often. Their latest controversy involved 4 new GPU releases all within a 9 month period (GeForce GTX 1080 -> Titan X -> GeForce GTX 1080 Ti -> Titan Xp)
