Verdict and Conclusion
If you take a look at the benchmarks, there’s no doubt the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER AMP is a real decent performer. In fact, for the price of only USD $230, it makes extremely attractive for the budget conscious gamer. This is all thanks to its faster memory clock at 14 Gbps, giving you a higher memory bandwidth of 336 Gb/s. The GTX 1660 Ti can only manage 12 Gbps and 288 Gb/s.
In Time Spy in produced a very good score of 6564, and for Firestrike it topped a score of 15,015, beating the GTX 1660 Ti. For Final Fantasy XV, we got a score of 6547, which is fine by me. Basemark GPU score reached 4971 on 2K resolution.
The only I thing missing on the GTX 1660 SUPER is the lack Spectra lighting, so no RGB or LEDs, but it does come with ICE Storm 2.0 cooling which helps with reducing the full load temperatures to around 60 degrees Celsius. The wraparound metal backplate is a nice added bonus, and provides support for the card and helps with heat dissipation.
In general, I don’t overclock graphics cards … I don’t really see a need to, besides the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti AMP is already factory overclocked to 1845 MHz, which is plenty fast enough. If that’s not enough for you speed junkies, you can always use Zotac’s FireStorm software to take the card to 1900 MHz and beyond. But be careful, any overclocking is done at your own risk and may damage your card.
I’m the kind of guy that says … why pay more for something can is only slightly better? The ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER AMP is one of those products that qualify. Well, don’t take my word for it … you can compare it here.
