This is the review of the In Win 805 Infinity Mid-Tower Chassis. Special thanks to In Win for providing the 850 Infinity chassis which will form part of the prizes for our Mod-My-Box™ 2016 modding competition.
Back in the early days of PC computing, computer chassis used to be dull and boring. In 1998 (yes 1998!), I remember my first PC chassis was actually a full tower ATX case made by In Win. It was a boring beige color with 5 x 5.25″ and 3 x 3.5″ bays. I used it for my very first mod! I used a Dremel to cut 2 x 80mm holes on the top, 1 x 80mm hole in the front and a massive hole on the side panel for a window kit. I then sprayed the whole case gun-metal grey, added some cold cathode tubes and mounted my very own watercooling! Man, those were the days!
It’s now 2016, and modified cases are everywhere. In fact, if you’re an enthusiast and can’t be hassled with modding your case, there are many manufacturers nowadays that sell chassis that are already modified. You can have chassis with side windows, LEDs, extra cooling vents for additional fans, and space for mounting your own watercooling solution. In Win is one such company.
In Win have always been known for their chassis. They recently held their Case Modding contest (finals) at the Computex 2016 exhibition. We were there at Computex to cover their booth, which they showcased their entire range of chassis … from gaming chassis to pre-modified ones.

The In Win 805 Infinity sports an interesting feature that will definitely turn heads. Both sides of the chassis are tempered glass, and features a customizable front panel with RGB lighting effect using LED strips and a mirror. The reflection is an illusion that displays endless rows of LED lights fading into the darkness … this effect is referred to as the “Infinity Mirror”. This is controlled by their own software called “HALO” which you can download from their website. It’s also one of the first chassis I’ve seen that has a USB 3.1 (Type-C) port at the front.
