Box and Packaging
The box and packaging is less than impressive. You only get the enclosure, power pack and the usual warranty information and instruction manual.
The AMP Box Mini
The chassis of the Zotac AMP Box Mini constructed of Aluminium except for the top cover. This helps with cooling. The size of the unit is larger than I expected, measuring 203mm (L) x 185mm (W) x 100mm (H). I guess it needs to be large if you’re going to install a graphics card inside. You’ll need the extra room for airflow and cooling!
On the front of the enclosure, you’ll find 4 x USB 3.1 Gen2 ports, while the rear of the unit is where you’ll find the Thunderbolt 3 connector, power-in (DC 19V) and the power-on button.
A Closer Look
Zotac was kind enough to include their GeFoce GTX 1060 Mini (6GB) graphics card. As you can see, it fitted nicely inside with plenty of room for cooling.
Unfortunately due to Windows limitation, we were unable to fully test the Thunderbolt 3 and video performance of the Zotac AMP Box Mini fitted with a GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) graphics card. For this … you’ll need a MacBook or a system with a MacOS.
Looking internally, you’ll find the 90-degree PCIE rise card. It’s a full length x16 PCIE slot. Notice the included 6-pin PCIE power cable for your graphics card.
